Why Your Druid Needs a Guide to Pvp
Playing a Druid class character in World of Warcraft’s PvP (Player versus Player) combat offers many opportunities, along with the potential for confusion and frustration. Druids are extremely tough to kill, and can resist many of the magical skills used by the opposition. With their ability to switch forms, heal, and even tank when necessary, they can play any role in PvP. Unfortunately for you, that very versatility makes Druids prime targets, and makes Druid PvP play very challenging.
Paradoxically, the Druid’s strength (his flexibility) can also be a disadvantage at first. Why? Because their best approach to defeating each opposing class varies. That means to get the absolute best out of your Druid (and why settle for anything less?) you need to master 9 different sets of one on one combat techniques. That’s work, but not impossible. Of course, if you have team mates, you will have to adapt your style of play to adapt to their abilities too. Again, this isn’t impossible to do, but it takes a while to figure it all out by yourself.
Many people believe that Druids have the best talents for 2v2 arena play. A sizable minority would argue for the Rogue, but the Druid adds more depth and variety to 2-person teams. A well thought-out Druid using strong strategy and tactics can own most any opponent in duels, and lead a top-tier 2v2 arena team. These same characteristics make Druids welcome additions to most 3v3 or 5v5 teams.
Knowing your Druids strengths is only half the battle. You need to know how to compensate for its weaknesses if you want to rise to the top of the PvP ranks. You also need to equip your Druid with the right gear to increase your Player versus Player survival rate. Learning everything you need to know to get the very best out of your Druid in PvP takes work, but it is worth the effort. Happily, other gamers have already learned all this stuff, and have been willing to write it all down in using a Druid in PvP Guide books.
